Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Care Coordinator to join our team at drmichaelkim Facial Plastic Surgery. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our office-based surgery center.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preoperative patient assessments to identify potential risks and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with our surgical team to facilitate efficient and safe surgical procedures.
  • Provide high-quality postoperative care to patients recovering from general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care.
  • Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and ensure timely discharge.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage of cases and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with our front office team to optimize scheduling and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement quality control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Work with our credentialing agency to ensure all staff are properly credentialed and up-to-date.

Requirements
  • Licensed registered nurse (RN) with current licensure in good standing from the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make decisions confidently in critical situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple responsibilities and ensure exceptional attention to detail.
