About the Role

We are seeking a Certified Medication Assistant to provide high-quality resident care and medication administration services at Laurelwood Healthcare Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and state/federal regulations
  • Display knowledge of medication side effects, interactions, and nursing implications
  • Account for controlled drugs and report discrepancies
  • Chart medications, medication omissions, and other pertinent observations
  • Maintain medication inventory and prepare monthly records
  • Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents
  • Perform basic nursing care functions as required
  • Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
  • Maintain resident documentation records
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate within 120 days
  • Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Understanding of resident care procedures and standards
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with staff
