Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Specialist to join our team at SH Varsity Acquisitions Sub LLC in Hampton, Virginia. This role involves developing and managing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location, educational background, and experience.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student with special needs.
  • Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and implement behavior support plans.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive learning environment.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning space for every student to thrive.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
