As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, providing essential support in patient care. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, executing nursing procedures, and ensuring a high standard of care in accordance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect comprehensive patient histories and relevant information.
- Conduct specialized procedures and tests as directed, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and medications in patient care areas.
- Sterilize and manage medical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Evaluate patient health status based on presenting symptoms and follow established protocols for care.
- Monitor and track diagnostic test results, ensuring timely communication with patients regarding their findings.
- Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system and provide education on available resources.
- Complete necessary documentation and scheduling for diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Process prescription requests and refills as per established protocols.
- Implement Universal Precautions during all patient interactions.

- Basic Life Support certification.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
