Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Chesterfield County Public Schools. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our students and staff.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct nursing services to students and staff, including administering first aid and emergency care, performing scheduled healthcare procedures, and coordinating health care and screenings. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct nursing services to students and staff, including administering first aid and emergency care.
  • Performs scheduled healthcare procedures, such as administering medications and performing health screenings.
  • Coordinates health care and screenings, including monitoring student health records and communicating with parents and healthcare providers.
  • Assists with toileting and diapering students, as needed.
  • Provides nursing care on school vehicles, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Two years of experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification and current certifications for healthcare providers (Child and Adult).
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner.
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a school clinic and other school settings, including classrooms, gyms, cafeterias, and recreational areas. The position requires frequent movement throughout the school facilities and occasional lifting of objects up to 40 pounds and moving of students weighing up to 150 pounds with assistive equipment.
