Job Summary

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance & Custodial Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing the upkeep of our headquarters' grounds, building, and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and upgrades to ensure the facilities meet safety regulations and are functional.
  • Custodial Services: Supervise and coordinate custodial services, including janitorial duties, cleaning, and disinfection of facilities.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with service providers, maintain vendor lists, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervision: Supervise maintenance and custodial staff, develop schedules, and maintain open communication.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including hand and power tools, lawn mowers, snow blowers, and weed trimmers.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Reporting: Report to management on building security and safety, snow removal, and other facilities-related matters.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior management experience in a related field, preferably in facilities management.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and completion of Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft products.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typical of an office and maintenance setting, with exposure to fumes, dust, steam, water, and chemicals. The position may require working in all weather conditions, including snow and extreme temperatures. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
