HSE Specialist Position at NOV IncKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist local management in the execution and upkeep of HSE protocols and initiatives, including the Global HSE Management Framework.
  • Conduct HSE inspections and audits, ensuring corrective measures are implemented as necessary.
  • Facilitate HSE components in orientation programs for new hires.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and advocate for strategies to prevent injuries among staff and visitors.
  • Work closely with site leadership to resolve issues and avert future occurrences.
  • Encourage transparent communication between employees and management.
  • Regularly review HSE programs, policies, and procedures for potential enhancements.
  • Maintain up-to-date job hazard analyses (JHA) and communicate any modifications to staff.
  • Submit repair requests for equipment to fulfill HSE standards.
  • Coordinate with HR and Workers' Compensation representatives in the event of injuries.
  • Manage Safety Data Sheets and hazardous communication materials.
  • Oversee environmental permits and ensure adherence to reporting obligations.
  • Act as the main point of contact during HSE evaluations.
  • Engage in meetings and conduct toolbox discussions as required.
  • Be available outside of standard hours and on weekends when necessary.
  • Carry out additional assigned responsibilities.
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to HSE, science, or a relevant technical area.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in HSE.
  • Certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CSHO are advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively interpret and apply safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and training capabilities regarding HSE subjects.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
  • Administrative duties (40-50%) and presence in manufacturing settings (50-60%) of the time.
  • Approximately 5% travel annually.
  • Completion of all assigned tasks.
