We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Independent Living Specialist to join our team at BRC. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness to achieve independent living.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of clients, providing regular meetings and ensuring accurate and up-to-date clinical files and reports.
- Develop and implement client-centered plans to address varied needs, including securing entitlements, employment, and housing.
- Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness and emphasize client autonomy and safety.
- Build clients' daily living skills to ensure successful independent living.
- Complete intakes, assessments, and required documentation, including psychosocials, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Escort clients to appointments as needed and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when required.
- High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
- Experience with conducting outreach, securing entitlements, and housing, and knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse helpful.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- CPR training certification or willingness to complete certification training in CPR.
