Job Title: Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

Medical Insights is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from injuries or illnesses and regain their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists in providing rehabilitative services to patients with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
  • Help patients improve their quality of life by teaching them techniques to compensate for limitations and increase their independence.
  • Follow treatment plans developed in collaboration with occupational therapists, monitoring activities to ensure they are performed correctly and providing encouragement when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress and any changes to treatment plans.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices by participating in educational opportunities and professional networks.

Requirements:

  • Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Texas or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in occupational therapy care settings, preferably with complete occupational therapy assessments.
  • Ability to bend, stand, and lift up to a certain weight, as well as work in a stressful environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assess and communicate with patients, families, and colleagues.
