General Manager Job Description

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of General Manager. This position is responsible for driving business growth and profitability, as well as developing and executing sales strategies that align with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement regional business strategies to achieve sales growth and profitability.
  • Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, setting key performance indicators and reviewing performance against these metrics.
  • Establish and review sales plans to ensure alignment with short- and long-term goals, pricing strategies, and contracts.
  • Identify and validate business opportunities, working with the sales organization to develop proposals and negotiate contracts.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Review and analyze financial performance, including P&L statements, to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with retail locations and plant operations to ensure customer needs are met while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Perform customer site visits and resolve high-impact issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience required.
  • 10-15 years of management experience required.
  • 5-10 years of direct sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive engagement, vision, and purpose.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build partnerships.
  • Action-oriented and resourceful, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%.
