Project Cost Analyst

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our capital investment program for water and wastewater utilities.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with project managers to prepare and submit accruals for completed work that has not been invoiced.
- Monitor project expenditures and create change requests in the project portfolio management system for projects that exceed approved budget.
- Address errors in the asset accounting system and enter unit estimates for creating new assets and retiring removed assets.
- Prepare Capex reports for rate surcharge filings and rate case filings.
- Work with project managers to update project budget plans and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Supervise the requisition process and provide coding for requisitions and payment requests.
- Prepare transfer requests and coordinate with accounting to process.
- Develop workflow process flow charts and train new department employees on comprehensive engineering department functions and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or Finance/Economics with an engineering/utility background.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of managing budgets and capital expenditure forecasting for infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of managing and adhering to project budgets and schedules.
