Job Summary

A Food Process Engineer at Shambaugh is responsible for delivering quality food process engineering design services, meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction for schedule and budget. This role involves developing flow diagrams, specifications, and balance calculations in accordance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop flow diagrams and specifications in accordance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct production line time studies, capacity usage studies, and product mass flow calculations.
  • Confirm process utility spreadsheets and distribute to project disciplines.
  • Create detailed scope of work for clients and estimating department.
  • Utilize standard practices for engineering calculations, spreadsheets, equipment schedules, and control sequences.
  • Develop project installation requirements and convey scope of work to clients and internal staff.
  • Assemble equipment specifications/schedules and RFQs for quick and accurate responses.
  • Provide on-site engineering support for construction projects, commissioning, and owner operator training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Chemical, Mechanical, or Food Process Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in design and project emphasis in the Food and Beverage industry.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Travel expected for project design and execution.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Effective communication skills in written and oral work.
