Paint Process Optimization Manager

Teijin Automotive Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Paint Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing paint processes to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our paint processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Process Development: Develop and implement paint processes to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into process parameters.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for paint process issues and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor material consumptions and process compliance.
- Process Improvement: Assist in the improvement of current processes and develop new processes.
- Equipment Procurement: Work with Engineering to identify, procure, and implement new equipment and processing equipment.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to reduce and sustain paint defect rates.
- Reporting: Report on current KPI results and develop additional or improved KPIs to ensure continual improvement of product and processes.
- Corrective Action: Develop and initiate a Corrective Action plan to correct and/or prevent future occurrences of noncompliant processes or product.
- Training and Development: Coordinate the training of Paint Engineers and Paint Techs, including providing mentoring on paint process techniques and best practices.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for paint processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
- Process Audits: Lead and participate in process audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Engineering, preferably in the paint processes.
- Management Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing Paint Engineers and/or Paint Techs in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, such as 5S and Kaizen. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency with robotics and automation systems. Ability to train and mentor team members. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
