Position Overview:

The Assistant Merchant II plays a vital role in supporting the product selection process for their assigned brand or product category. This position collaborates closely with the Merchant/Senior Merchant to impact the product development journey. The Assistant Merchant II is expected to leverage competitive analysis and historical performance metrics to provide insightful recommendations for their designated category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update sample management lists effectively.
  • Prepare sample items in advance for merchant meetings or as required.
  • Assist the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager throughout the product selection and development phases for both catalog and online platforms.
  • Engage daily with cross-functional teams to align merchandising goals and foster collaboration.
  • Conduct thorough competitive research by analyzing catalogs and retail competitors to identify significant items and emerging trends.
  • Generate reports on business performance and assess Key Performance Indicators to inform future strategies.
  • Support the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandise Manager with various responsibilities across the merchandising team as necessary.
  • Contribute to the assortment planning in alignment with launch and promotional strategies.
  • Analyze current and past sales data to propose adjustments aimed at maximizing revenue.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in merchandising or product-related roles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
