The Merchandise Planning Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Buyer in formulating and executing merchandise strategies that align with departmental financial targets and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Buyer in achieving departmental financial targets by selecting desirable merchandise at competitive prices.
  • Assist in the formulation, development, and execution of merchandise strategies that cater to customer needs while fulfilling the company's goals.
  • Oversee vendor order follow-ups and manage merchandising and allocation systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of distribution, inventory control, store operations, and corporate policies.
  • Ensure adherence to established budgetary guidelines and company protocols.
  • Complete assigned special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in merchandise administration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and communication abilities.
  • Fundamental knowledge of merchandising principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with JDA software.
  • Up to one year of relevant experience in merchandise administration.
