Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Sleep Number Corporation. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing our Sarbanes-Oxley program, working closely with Internal Audit on testing design and execution of controls over external financial reporting, and researching and analyzing new accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the FASB and SEC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Sarbanes-Oxley program and ensure compliance with SEC, GAAP, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Internal Audit on testing design and execution of controls over external financial reporting.
  • Research and analyze new accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the FASB and SEC, and prepare memorandums including supportive literature, impact on the Company, and conclusion.
  • Evaluate transactions, research as needed to provide recommendations, and implement appropriate accounting and business solutions.
  • Prepare financial reports, review and analyze financial information, and maintain accounting data in appropriate ledgers and journals.
  • Drive development of financial system improvements to eliminate manual processes and improve financial controls.
  • Support external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews and audits.
Requirements:
  • CPA required.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of SOX and GAAP required; SEC reporting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Proven record of driving process improvements and development of personnel.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; advanced in Excel; Oracle and AuditBoard experience preferred.
  • Proven record of driving process improvements and development of personnel.
  • Proactive decision making and strong communication skills (written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills).
  • Ability to work autonomously with all levels of leadership.
  • Must be oriented for continuous improvement.
  • Analytical ability and insights and detailed oriented.
  • Positive attitude; willingness to accept increasing responsibility.
