Job Summary

The Clinical Service Technician is a critical role within Apria Healthcare, responsible for delivering complex durable medical equipment to patients in their homes. This position requires a high level of customer service, technical expertise, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct patients on the proper use and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, and oxygen equipment.
  • Ensure patients understand how to operate and maintain equipment, and provide additional instruction as needed.
  • Respond to emergency delivery calls and provide timely support to patients.
  • Load, deliver, and set up respiratory, durable medical equipment, oxygen, and other necessary supplies to homecare patients.
  • Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition, according to manufacturer's guidelines and company policy.
  • Prepare and maintain all pertinent patient care forms and required billing forms.
  • Complete all required D.O.T., F.D.A., and other regulatory paperwork, per company guidelines and instruction.
  • Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports.
  • Ensure delivery vehicles are in proper working condition and perform preventive maintenance on a timely basis, according to D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commission standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: At least three years' related experience required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement required.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Delivery Service Technician Certification Program required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 160 pounds, and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Work Environment

The Clinical Service Technician will work in a variety of settings, including patient homes, Apria Healthcare facilities, and on the road. The position requires frequent travel, including overnight stays, and may involve working in a variety of weather conditions.

The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
