Position Overview

We are currently in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Staff Accountant to fill a vital role within our accounting department in the construction sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a solid accounting background, particularly in reconciliations, general ledger management, financial analysis, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, ideally within the construction industry, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will encompass a range of financial tasks critical to the organization's success, including:

1. Preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial reports and records, such as general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements.
2. Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure precise reporting and ledger accuracy.
3. Analyzing financial statements for discrepancies and other matters requiring the CFO's attention.
4. Reviewing inter-company transactions and generating invoices as needed.
5. Coordinating semi-annual audits and assisting in the preparation of audit schedules, reports, and other financial documentation.
6. Performing regular ledger maintenance.
7. Assisting in budget preparation and forecasting.
8. Participating in annual audit preparations.
9. Developing and implementing enhancements to existing accounting procedures to boost efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant role will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction sector.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
4. Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience in financial statement analysis and a solid understanding of financial metrics.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
