Job Summary

The U.S. House of Representatives, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Director, Broadcast Operations to oversee the production of live broadcasts of official House proceedings. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of broadcast coverage, including the House Chamber, committee hearings, and other events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Broadcast Operations for the House Recording Studio, with a focus on live coverage of the House Chamber.
  • Serve as a key contact for Members, Officers, and Staff on matters related to House Floor coverage.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of personnel schedules and ensure adequate resources are available for upcoming events.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director, Production Operations and report to the Director, Broadcast Production Operations to ensure appropriate staffing, planning, and advisement for all matters pertaining to audiovisual coverage.
  • Assign work to subordinate staff, establish goals and objectives, and provide technical oversight and training as needed.
  • Interview and recommend candidates for subordinate positions, and develop performance plans and evaluate employee performance.
  • Develop and conduct reports in response to management inquiries, and present results and analyses to senior management and stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 7-10 years of professional broadcast or related industry experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience interviewing and assessing job applicants.
  • Knowledge of the House Floor Proceedings.
