Job Title: Per Diem Studio Technician/Technical Director

FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus is seeking a part-time Studio Technician/Technical Director to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience with floor directing, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Filling various production roles and preparing material for broadcasts
  • Operating in a fast-paced, live production control room and studio
  • Performing technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director functions
  • Working professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints
  • Maintaining a friendly, respectful, and collaborative attitude
  • Interacting effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma (or equivalent) required; vocational/technical school, associate degree, or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, master control, and news environment in a medium to major size market
  • Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment
  • Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production
  • Experience with automated control room environments a plus
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift 20 pounds, and perform other physical demands
Work Environment:

FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus operates out of state-of-the-art studios and facilities in downtown Bethesda, MD. Our studios air the most hours of local news each week throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and surrounding areas with a viewing audience unmatched by other stations. Employees have access to the onsite fitness center and building accommodations.
