Position Overview
Bancroft is in search of a Corporate Governance Assistant who will provide essential support to the Board of Trustees and executive leadership. This role is pivotal in enhancing the governance framework and operational efficiency of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the daily operations of the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective communication and coordination of board activities.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of board meetings, including the development of meeting agendas in collaboration with the President & CEO and Board Chair.
- Document meeting minutes and disseminate official communications regarding decisions and directives to relevant stakeholders.
- Support policy development initiatives by staying informed on industry trends and organizational changes.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training for board members to enhance their understanding of governance roles and responsibilities.
- Manage board member rosters, calendars, and strategic planning retreats, including logistics and expense management.
- Implement innovative practices to enhance board engagement and operational effectiveness.
- Deliver administrative support to executive leadership, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and preparation of presentations and reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in business management, public administration, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting board management and governance activities, with a proven ability to foster positive relationships and achieve measurable outcomes. Experience in developing governance initiatives and a strong understanding of corporate governance best practices is essential. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of experience providing administrative support to C-Suite executives is required.
