Job Summary


The Transportation Coordinator will operate vehicles for patient transport within a correctional healthcare setting in a safe manner. This role provides routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles and diversified administrative, clerical, and technical assistance/service within the correctional healthcare setting.


Essential Job Functions



  • Assists with safe, prompt transfers of patients between correctional facilities, hospitals, and other destinations.
  • Maintains daily logs of mileage, number of trips, passengers, destination, and fuel/oil consumption.
  • Inspects the condition of all assigned vehicles on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires, and water.
  • Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to a supervisor.
  • Provides a clean, safe environment and performs or assists others to perform proper aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Operates personal computers to enter and assimilate data, generate reports, draft routine correspondence, and develop special administrative analyses.
  • Performs facility administrative support tasks, including answering the phone, filing, faxing, scanning, and mail functions.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for the department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Work Environment


This role is located within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required, and pre-employment drug testing is also required.


Required Education/Experience



  • High school or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required.

Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
