About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer with experience in plastics to join our team. As an Industrial Process Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing tooling and developing processes for mono and co-extrusion plastic profiles, tubes, and secondary fabrication.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop process plans for new products, ensuring quality and timely delivery of samples
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality control staff to approve first article samples
  • Coordinate tooling needs with Die Development technicians and Production Manager
  • Oversee tool making activities in the machine shop, ensuring high standards for design and workmanship
  • Serve as systems analyst for the machine shop, coordinating with outside vendors
  • Work closely with other engineers and the VP of Engineering to prioritize shop activities
  • Coordinate procurement needs for the machine shop, including materials and supplies
  • Support other departments and company sites in their tooling needs
  • Seek ways to improve process efficiencies through redevelopment
  • Troubleshoot daily process difficulties supporting production
  • Coordinate timely responses for special tooling needs with the Production Manager
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering
  • 3 - 5 years of plastic manufacturing experience, preferably with plastic extrusion die design and process development
  • Proficient usage of AutoCAD and CAD/CAM software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with different plastic resins and processing
