Fleet Operations Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Fleet Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Fleet Maintenance by assisting with daily administrative responsibilities within the department. This position is essential in providing assistance to drivers experiencing breakdowns or other maintenance challenges while on the road, primarily during standard business hours and as needed after hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance protocols for the entire fleet, encompassing long-haul, regional, and local vehicles.
- Facilitate timely breakdown and repair responses, ensuring compliance with vendor policies and making necessary arrangements for driver accommodations while their vehicle is out of service.
- Utilize and train staff on Fleetmatics software, monitoring fleet positioning and unit utilization to enhance efficiency and prevent misuse of equipment. Manage the distribution of Fleetmatics peripherals such as fobs and tablets.
- Oversee fuel consumption through Fleetmatics and other monitoring systems, reporting any discrepancies to the Director of Fleet Management.
- Conduct regular assessments of maintenance data collection and analysis, as well as the software utilized in the maintenance program.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of maintenance and other relevant data.
- Support the development and enforcement of fleet management policies regarding vehicle acquisitions and asset oversight.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in common computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to input data accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with fleet management practices and equipment relevant to the moving industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze options and negotiate with vendors.
- Capable of working independently.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field.
- Preferred: Minimum of 2 years experience in fleet management or inventory control within a multi-site environment.
- Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Required: Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoor work, with occasional outdoor tasks involving equipment.
- Availability for night, weekend, and evening shifts as necessary.
- Regular use of computers is required.
- Physical demands may include lifting items over 20 lbs, with some tasks requiring lifting over 50 lbs.
