Position Overview
Peterson Cat is seeking a General Accountant.
ROLE SUMMARY
This role delivers comprehensive accounting services, aiding in the upkeep of financial records and controls for the designated division; responsibilities may include general tasks or specific accounting functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following outlines the essential functions for this position, though it does not limit the tasks that may be assigned. Management may allocate or reassign duties as necessary. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and auditing Equipment Inventory Registers.
- Assisting in month-end closing processes, posting journal entries, and preparing various financial analyses and reports.
- Maintaining oversight of general and subsidiary ledgers.
- Reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts and related documentation, making necessary adjustments. Updating inventory details and related systems as required.
- Analyzing and reporting Gross Profit in comparison to previous periods.
- Preparing documentation for audits and assisting auditors by providing necessary information.
- Collaborating with Senior Accountants to resolve financial statement discrepancies, making adjustments as necessary, and conducting ad hoc analyses/reports.
- Executing special projects for Finance Management as required.
An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Business or a related field; along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably within a heavy industrial context; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with AS400 systems is advantageous.
The salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $95,000 (Starting salary will be based on experience and education. We also provide a comprehensive compensation package in addition to the base salary.)
