Position Overview:
The Clinical Research Specialist II is responsible for overseeing administrative functions related to the execution of clinical trials.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Oversees research project databases, creates flow sheets and other study-related documentation, and completes source documents/case report forms.

Provides mentorship to junior staff members.

Engages with research participants, assesses eligibility, and secures informed consent in accordance with study protocols.

Authorizes procurement of supplies and ensures equipment maintenance.

Assists in formulating recruitment strategies and conducting participant screenings, including interviews and surveys.

Supervises the collection and processing of study specimens.

Establishes case packages for study procedures, monitors scheduling of procedures and charges, and coordinates additional services as necessary.


Ensures adherence to research protocols, reviews case report forms, and conducts audits for accuracy against source documents, participating in monitoring meetings with sponsors.

Prepares necessary regulatory submissions.

With appropriate credentials and training, may perform phlebotomy or diagnostic procedures.

Undertakes related approved responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or GED along with five years of clinical research experience.


Alternatively, two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration field with three years of clinical research experience.

Or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) with two years of clinical research experience.


Or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration discipline with one year of clinical research experience.

Or a Master's degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health-related, or business administration field.


This role is designed to support clinical research, and all clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the credentialing category of Clinical Researcher.
