Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Coordinates, implements, and assesses clinical research trials, studies, and initiatives.
  • Guides the formulation of research protocols.
  • Engages in the recruitment and screening of potential study participants, and develops educational materials for patients and their families.
  • Manages financial accounts to ensure operations adhere to approved budgets.
  • Conducts patient assessments, administers medications and research instruments, and provides nursing support for specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures.
  • Refers patients to in-house or community professionals and acts as a clinical resource.
  • Gathers data, aids in the creation of data collection systems, and compiles reports.
  • May perform infusion duties as necessary.
  • Assists in drafting research grants, publications in medical and nursing literature, study materials, brochures, and correspondence.
  • Provides guidance and may oversee other Research Nurses or support staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Employees in this role may be required to work with, take specific precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia with three years of relevant nursing experience. Credentialing through Emory Healthcare under the category of RN II is required.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to modify remote work status with notice to the employee.
