Position Overview

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees, implements, and assesses clinical research trials, studies, and initiatives.
  • Guides the formulation of research protocols.
  • Engages in the recruitment and evaluation of potential study participants, providing education to patients and their families as needed.
  • Manages financial accounts to ensure operations adhere to approved budgets.
  • Conducts patient assessments, administers medications and research tools, and offers nursing support for specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures.
  • Refers patients to in-house or community professionals and acts as a clinical resource.
  • Gathers data, aids in the creation of data collection systems, and compiles analytical reports.
  • May perform infusion duties as required.
  • Assists in drafting research grants, publications in medical and nursing literature, study materials, brochures, and correspondence.
  • Provides guidance and may supervise other Research Nurses or support staff.
  • Performs related tasks as necessary.
  • Employees in this role may be required to work with, take specific precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia and possess three years of relevant nursing experience. Credentialing through Emory Healthcare under the RN II category is required.

NOTE: The responsibilities of this position are typically performed in-person at an Emory University location. Options for remote work may be available at the discretion of the department. Emory reserves the right to modify remote work status with notice to the employee.
