Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehabilitation Services team, primarily working on weekends and providing coverage during staff vacations within the inpatient rehabilitation unit. This role may also involve supporting acute care as necessary based on patient volume and staffing needs.

Position Summary:


The Physical Therapist Assistant in Rehabilitation Services is responsible for delivering patient care under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist to execute and advance the patient care plan.

2. Collect and analyze patient data to assist in tracking progress and treatment effectiveness.


3. Follow the established care plan while consulting with interdisciplinary team members to meet the patient's needs.


4. Coordinate with the primary Physical Therapist to ensure timely assessments are conducted.


5. Deliver patient care in alignment with therapy objectives, treatment protocols, and APTA standards, adapting to the evolving needs of the patient using various therapeutic methods.


6. Maintain accurate daily records for each patient, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and insurance guidelines.

7. Document each patient interaction thoroughly and promptly, adhering to state regulations and requirements from accrediting bodies and third-party payers.

8. Stay informed about the latest insurance guidelines relevant to rehabilitation services.


9. Educate patients and their families about the therapeutic process, home exercise programs, and discharge plans.


10. Engage in personal professional development and contribute to the growth of the team.


11. Assist in supervising PTA students as designated by the Clinical Coordinator or Clinical Instructor.


12. Work collaboratively with site leadership and administrative staff to manage schedules effectively, ensuring productivity and adherence to budgetary goals.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant training program and current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Michigan is required.
