About the Role

The Technical Sales Consultant will be responsible for creating and managing cost assessments for projects utilizing our products, as well as for new product development through prototyping and manufacturing evaluations. This role involves close collaboration with the sales team and external clients to clarify design specifications, develop tailored product solutions, and communicate the overall project scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective communication among the sales team, clients, and engineering staff, ensuring that specifications, budgets, and timelines are clearly articulated and understood.
  • Analyze construction documents and specifications to provide product recommendations that align with project needs.
  • Interpret project requirements from Sales Managers and communicate feasibility, timelines, and potential challenges.
  • Generate quotes for new designs and maintain a comprehensive design history throughout the quoting process.
  • Offer application engineering support for existing and future products tailored to the Mission Critical/Data Center sector.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, materials, and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance product lines and production efficiency.
  • Identify trends in Data Center design and collaborate with R&D to guide the development of new products that meet market demands.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows and conferences.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in Engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, with zero to three years of experience.
  • Familiarity with reading construction documents and estimating is advantageous.
  • A general understanding of server technology and related hardware is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams) is essential.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Revit is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
