**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Athletic Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Amarillo. As an essential member of our sports department, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing various athletic programs and events for the community.

**Job Summary:

The Athletic Program Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising adult athletic leagues and tournaments. This includes acquiring sponsorships, marketing the events, and maintaining league communications. You will also be responsible for allocating city facilities, processing payments for officials and scorekeepers, and preparing necessary paperwork and electronic messaging to support league activities.

**Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate adult athletic leagues and tournaments
  • Acquire sponsorships and market events
  • Maintain league communications and standings
  • Allocate city facilities and process payments for officials and scorekeepers
  • Prepare necessary paperwork and electronic messaging to support league activities
  • Assist with budget preparation and management

**Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college coursework in recreation management or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum one year of experience in athletic programming, preferably with leagues and/or tournament coordination and supervision
  • Valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Certification in CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid (acquired within six months of employment)

**Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
