Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Jobot. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing our general ledger system, preparing and reviewing detailed journal entries, and conducting detailed account reconciliations and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and manage the company's general ledger system, including preparing and reviewing detailed journal entries.
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations and analysis to ensure all transactions are accurate.
  • Perform fund accounting activities, including tracking and reporting on our financial resources.
  • Manage financial operations in a nonprofit context, understanding specific regulations and requirements.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and procedures.
  • Provide financial advice and strategic input to the management team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field, with a focus on general ledger, reconciliation, fund accounting, nonprofit, and audit.
  • Proven experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, and other financial management tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing with various departments and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
