Position Overview

We are in search of a meticulous and proactive Senior Financial Accountant to become a vital part of our finance department. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in general ledger management, account reconciliation, fund accounting, nonprofit financial practices, and auditing.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Financial Accountant, your duties will encompass:

1. Overseeing and maintaining the organization's general ledger system, including the preparation and review of detailed journal entries.
2. Conducting thorough account reconciliations and analyses to ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.
3. Executing fund accounting tasks, including monitoring and reporting on financial resources.
4. Managing financial operations within a nonprofit framework, with a clear understanding of relevant regulations and requirements.
5. Leading and participating in both internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and standards.
6. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
7. Collaborating with various departments to enhance financial processes and procedures.
8. Providing financial insights and strategic recommendations to the management team.
9. Keeping abreast of industry trends, audit best practices, and the regulatory landscape.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this exciting role, candidates must possess:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. At least 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field, focusing on general ledger, reconciliation, fund accounting, nonprofit finance, and auditing.
3. Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
5. Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, and other financial management tools.
6. Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
7. Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
8. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with various departments and stakeholders.
