Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of financial statements and analytical reports for internal departments and external agencies.
  • Classify financial transactions according to various funds, projects, and programs.
  • Maintain and reconcile financial records for trust funds, receivables, fixed assets, and expenditures.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to clerical staff involved in ledger entries, reconciliations, and payroll record maintenance.
  • Manage fiscal documentation including vouchers, requisitions, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate electronic transfers and maintain communication with financial institutions and governmental agencies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates holding a degree or equivalent proficiency.
  • Experience in progressively responsible accounting, auditing, or administrative roles, emphasizing significant fiscal duties.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field may substitute for three years of required experience.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and governmental accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in business office practices and computer applications, particularly spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional skills in preparing clear and concise financial reports.
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn specific accounting information systems.
