Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of operations, ensuring all service timelines and deadlines established by management or clients are met.
  • Oversee all facets of food service management with a proven history of success.
  • Manage financials, including planning, budget development and analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure P&L accountability and experience in contract-managed services.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new management associates.
  • Conduct management meetings and demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in assisting customers, clients, peers, and subordinates.
  • Interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers.
  • Think quickly and accurately, assess problems, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Audit units to ensure compliance with company, government, and accrediting agency standards, regulations, and codes regarding food storage, preparation, sanitation, and record-keeping.
  • Utilize POS and mobile app ordering systems for the cafe.
  • Oversee private event catering to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or a related field; or A.A. Degree plus five to seven years of directly related experience preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of retail operational foodservice management experience preferred, flexible depending on formal degree or training.
  • Experience in multi-unit management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
  • Retail marketing experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at various levels including management, customer, and associate levels.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
  • Proficient computer skills, including various software programs, Microsoft Office, email, and the Internet.
