Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Hazard Technician to work in a contract opportunity with our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating high-hazard chemical processes, handling and manipulating chemicals, and managing laboratory work.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, including automated control systems.
- Handle and manipulate chemicals, including compressed gas cylinders, 55-gal drums, and half-ton cylinders.
- Manage and execute laboratory work, including wet chemistry experiments, using corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
- Monitor and adjust chemical processes to ensure successful completion of batch and continuous chemical synthesis.
- Document and audit operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Troubleshoot reaction, mechanical process, controls, or laboratory issues.
- Chemistry or chemical hazard experience, with a focus on laboratory operations and routine laboratory experience.
- Ability to handle tasks in support of scientific research at varying scales and levels of complexity.
- Shift work with 12-hour rotating shifts available in a chemical process area that operates 24/4.
- A competitive estimated max rate of $27.50.
