We are seeking an experienced Study Abroad Program Coordinator to join our team. This position will provide leadership for UW Tacoma's study abroad programs and other global learning opportunities.

Job Summary

This is a key role that oversees the administration of study abroad programming at UW Tacoma. The ideal candidate will have experience in international education, study abroad, or related fields, with a strong ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of UW Tacoma study abroad programs and other global learning opportunities.
  • Works with faculty to create high-impact study abroad programs that align with UW Tacoma's strategic plan, social justice focus, and student interests.
  • Advises faculty program directors on program proposal process, budget components, pre-departure orientation, and post-program assessment.
  • Develops infrastructure and policies to support study abroad programs and independent learning abroad.
  • Coordinates the effective implementation of UW-wide and UW Tacoma study abroad policies and procedures, including risk management and crisis response.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in International or Higher Education, Communications, Global Affairs, Business, or a related field, plus four (4) years' experience in international education, study abroad, or other student services.

Pro-active, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills; experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Compensation

$61,200 - $62,500 per month.
