Department Overview:

The Office of Admissions plays a crucial role in the enrollment strategy at the University of North Texas, focusing on outreach and recruitment while offering personalized support to prospective students throughout their application journey.

Role Summary:

The Admissions Processing Lead will oversee the admission processes for both domestic and international students, reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions Processing. This role is essential for communicating policies and procedures related to admissions and ensuring accurate data management within the Enterprise Information System (EIS). The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and accuracy in handling application materials.

Essential Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent, along with three years of relevant office or clerical experience. Educational qualifications may substitute for experience.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with admissions policies and procedures.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and prepare reports.
  • Competence in compiling and organizing data for reporting purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of international credential evaluation.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the intake and data entry of applications and transcripts for admissions, ensuring high-quality data management.
  • Provide accurate information regarding admissions policies and procedures to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Act as a liaison for all aspects of admissions, addressing inquiries and prioritizing concerns effectively.
  • Manage the verification of official documents and maintain accurate records in the EIS.
  • Process admissions documents efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and routing.

Work Schedule:

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime and weekend work as necessary.
