Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled financial analyst to join our Contingent Compensation team in Los Angeles. This team is responsible for managing royalties and profit participations linked to the utilization of our content and associated rights, including consumer products, experiences, music, and games. The role focuses on the analysis of royalties and profit participations related to Netflix's intellectual property. The ideal candidate will possess a solid grasp of financial principles and a general understanding of the royalty landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze legal contracts, interpret contingent compensation terms, and prepare payments along with royalty statements based on contractual obligations.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to assess business impacts, such as profitability assessments and financial implications of new agreements.
  • Lead and assist in projects of varying complexity with confidence.
  • Effectively communicate intricate concepts and manage external relationships, including discussions with talent representatives and third-party distributors to address inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Engage in innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, including system development and automation projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback, research industry best practices, and implement significant improvements that showcase the capabilities of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in participations, royalties, or contract management, with a background in content, consumer products, live experiences, or games being advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and effectively solve problems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of fostering strong working relationships with a diverse range of cross-functional partners.
  • Self-driven, quick-thinking, and adaptable to a dynamic environment, demonstrating a high level of intellectual curiosity and sound judgment amidst uncertainty.
  • Embody and advocate for the company's values and team objectives.

Compensation and Benefits:
Our compensation framework is based solely on an annual salary, with no bonuses. Each year, you can choose how much of your compensation you wish to allocate to salary versus stock options. We determine your market compensation based on market indicators, your specific job family, background, skills, and experience. The compensation range for this role is $50,000 - $240,000. Netflix offers comprehensive benefits, including health plans, mental health support, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, stock options, disability programs, health savings accounts, family-forming benefits, and life insurance. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days of paid time off annually, while salaried employees enjoy flexible time off from the start.
