Position Overview
We are in search of a seasoned financial expert to become a vital part of our Contingent Compensation team located in Los Angeles. This team is responsible for managing royalties and profit shares associated with the utilization of our content and related rights, which encompass consumer products, experiences, music, and games. We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst focused on Consumer Products, Experiences, and Games Royalties. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of royalties or profit shares related to the utilization of Netflix intellectual property, alongside a robust grasp of financial principles. Your role will involve collaborating across various departments to pinpoint royalty obligations, assess financial implications, calculate and distribute statements, and provide guidance to partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze legal contracts, interpret contingent compensation agreement terms, and prepare payments along with royalty/participation statements in accordance with contractual stipulations.
  • Develop ad hoc analyses to illustrate business impacts, such as profitability assessments and financial implications of new agreement terms.
  • Assist and lead projects of varying complexities with confidence.

  • Provide constructive feedback, research industry best practices, and implement significant enhancements to your area that showcase your team's capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in participations, royalties, and/or contract management. Experience in content, consumer products, live experiences, and/or games is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities to identify challenges and solve problems effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to cultivate strong working relationships with a diverse range of cross-functional business partners. Provide outstanding customer service to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Self-driven, quick-thinking, and adaptable to change. Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, exhibiting a high level of intellectual curiosity and sound judgment amidst ambiguity.
  • Understand, advocate for, and embody the company's values and team objectives.

Compensation and Benefits:
Our compensation framework consists solely of an annual salary, without bonuses. Each year, you determine the proportion of your compensation you wish to receive in salary versus stock options. To establish your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation within the market range. The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $240,000. Netflix offers comprehensive benefits, including health plans, mental health support, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, stock option programs, disability programs, health savings and flexible spending accounts, family-forming benefits, and life and serious injury benefits. Additionally, we provide paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off, which can be utilized for vacation, holidays, and sick leave. Full-time salaried employees are entitled to flexible time off immediately.
