Role Summary:

The Event Services Manager is accountable for overseeing the front-of-house operations for food and beverage during group events. This position entails direct supervision of front-of-house personnel, training, and ensuring the ambiance and cleanliness of the event spaces are maintained according to established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate banquet event orders and staffing requirements to ensure optimal service levels.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of necessary items for scheduled events.
  • Manage daily operations and ensure proper linen arrangements for all function areas.
  • Participate in pre-event and post-event meetings as required by the conference services team.
  • Maintain daily communication with group services and culinary staff to address any last-minute adjustments.
  • Inspect event spaces for cleanliness and ensure setup aligns with event specifications.
  • Document staff attendance and punctuality.
  • Monitor employee appearance and adherence to dress codes.
  • Assess and adjust lighting, temperature, and music to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Delegate opening tasks and confirm their completion.
  • Prepare seating arrangements and oversee service staff.
  • Observe staff performance to ensure compliance with service standards and provide coaching as needed.
  • Implement standard operating procedures for revenue management and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulations, including labor laws and health standards.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Maintain a visible presence during events to address any guest inquiries or issues.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the assigned areas by adhering to cleaning schedules.
  • Adjust staffing levels based on event attendance.
  • Assign closing tasks and verify their completion.
  • Complete billing and service charge documentation, ensuring accuracy.
  • Review staff schedules to prevent overtime and conflicts.
  • Assist in the planning and modification of banquet menus.
  • Ensure compliance with hiring protocols, including maintaining Minor Logs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of relevant experience or training is preferred.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; or a combination of education and experience that meets these requirements.

Essential Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
  • Preferred certifications include TAM, Servsafe, and/or TiPS.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food and service operations.
  • Friendly demeanor and excellent communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic safety awareness.
  • Proactive and organized.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Ability to foster client relationships.
