CNC Applications Engineer

Job Summary:
Morris Midwest is seeking a skilled CNC Applications Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Applications Engineering group, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to our customers, helping them to improve their productivity and competitiveness in the world economy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting pre-sale activities, including customer visits, opportunity evaluations, and machine assessments
- Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
- Programming and setting up CNC lathes, mills, and Swiss style lathes
- Developing and implementing custom demonstrations, training customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, and multi-tasking machines
- Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on machining background with at least 2 years of experience with CNC machines
- Experience with Fanuc and Okuma controls is a plus
- Proven understanding of CAD/CAM software, with experience in MasterCam, Esprit, and Solidworks a plus
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Frequent travel throughout our regional territory

- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to keep their composure with the public and co-workers in everyday, stressful situations
