Job Summary

Responsible for designing and implementing optimal manufacturing processes, programs, and setups for the fabrication of parts per customer purchase order.

Improves manufacturing and production processes using lean manufacturing and other improvement concepts, including collecting production data, analyzing outputs, determining corrective actions, project management, and configuring manufacturing systems to improve quality, reduce cost, and develop best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the CNC Swiss department programming process, including creation of CNC Swiss programs, manufacturing process creation, and operation prints as required.
  • Coordinate with quality on inspection methods and First Articles, and participate in pre-production process to ensure all items are kitted and available at setup time.
  • Create and maintain setup sheets, and lead in optimization of set-up cycle times and improvement of productivity standards by teaming with CNC machinists and set-up personnel.
  • Investigate, experiment, and implement processes to maximize productivity, maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems, and improve production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
  • Evaluate current processes, determine their effectiveness, identify opportunities, and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Research, procure, and develop new technology, including tooling, work holding, and equipment.
  • Participate in quality activities, including NCMR review, root cause analysis, and material review board.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC Swiss machining, with experience in Citizen and Tsugami machines a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of CAM programming experience, with experience in Partmaker and GIBBS a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ability to setup and operate machine tools.
  • Ability to program machine tools.
  • Contract manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of the medical device manufacturing industry.
