About the Opportunity

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Travel LPN. This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.

About the Role

This role requires a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with residents in various long-term care settings. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and safety.
  • Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Additional $5 per hour float premium.
  • Additional $1.25 per hour weekend shift differential.
  • Additional $1.25 per hour evening/night shift differential; 6:00pm – 6:00am.
  • Required to work at least 24 hours per month.
  • Required to work at least one weekend rotation per month.
  • 3-month previous experience in Long Term Care required, 6 months preferred.
  • No contract required.
