Our mission is to ensure that all individuals, particularly children and families, have access to essential resources and support systems necessary for their growth and success. We provide over 180 integrated programs across various sectors, including Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Employment Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Assistance, reaching more than 73,000 individuals and families, including nearly 13,000 youth. Our clientele represents a diverse cross-section of New Yorkers, with a significant portion being immigrants and refugees. Over 85% of the families we serve live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by many in our city.
Program Focus: CAMBA's School-Based Early Support Program is a collaborative effort with ACS aimed at empowering families and enhancing children's well-being within educational settings. This initiative provides a spectrum of services and resources readily available to families through partnerships with local educational institutions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Engage in outreach initiatives to connect with families, including those who reach out independently, to discuss program offerings and expectations. This outreach prioritizes referrals from partner educational institutions and extends to community-based organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to family support.
- Work collaboratively with referral sources, including educators and community organizations, to gain insights into each family's unique strengths, needs, and priorities, ensuring an appropriate program fit.
- Develop tailored support plans in collaboration with families, based on thorough assessments that identify their strengths, needs, and service requirements.
- Effectively manage a caseload of 12 clients.
- Maintain precise documentation, including reports and databases.
- Prepare reports and engage in program evaluation.
- Recommend case closure in accordance with established guidelines.
- Participate in case conferences.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Social Work.
Additional Requirements:
- At least two years of experience working with families and children in community settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating respect, compassion, and empathy towards clients.
- Exceptional writing abilities for clear and professional documentation and communication with stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with relevant databases and case management systems is advantageous.
- Commitment to cultural competency and anti-oppressive practices.
- Strong understanding of student support services, including IEPs and SEL programs.
- Fluency in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred.
Compensation: The annual salary ranges from $47,000 to $52,000, based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.
Employment Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
