Responsibilities:
This role oversees daily patient care operations, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager on assigned shifts. Key responsibilities include maintaining clinical standards of care, labor productivity, supervision of the patient care environment, supporting the care team, directing patient throughput activities, and promoting evidence-based nursing practices.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units, makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient throughout, and directly observes staff performance on their assigned shift.
- Monitors productivity and assures that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
- Communicates personnel related concerns to the Unit Manager.
- Uses a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving.
- Maintains confidentiality of information of the department.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program, active Registered Nurse Licensure in Kentucky or eNLC licensure with multistate privileges in good standing, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and previous nursing experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency, or Critical Care service lines are preferred qualifications.
