We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Records Specialist to manage and maintain medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Records Specialist will work closely with medical staff and utilize various systems to streamline record-keeping processes.
**Responsibilities**
Assist with all internal and external records requests.
Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA/HITECH regulations.
Coordinate logistics for new hire onboarding sessions and employee training sessions.
Manage the organization\u0027s employee database and prepare reports.
Maintains good communication with MCO representatives and provides records in a timely manner.
Performs audits on resident records to ensure accuracy in concert with the Director of Administrative Services.
Keep up-to-date with the latest HIPAA/HITECH requirements and best practices.
**Requirements**
Associate degree in health information management - 3-5 years\u0027 direct experience may be substituted.
Detail oriented and organized.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Solid understanding of MS Office.
Experience with release of information (ROI) documentation and requirements.
Meets health requirements, i.e. - flu vaccination, COVID vaccination, COVID Booster, tb testing - per licensing requirements.
Must demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
