Wild Equine and Burro Program Coordinator

Agency Clarification
This position is open to all U.S. Citizens. Previous Federal Service is not a requirement. Candidates from CTAP and ICTAP within the local commuting area are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the Wild Horse and Burro Program, ensuring adherence to the objectives, standards, and policies set forth by the Department, Bureau, State, and District Office while achieving program goals.
- Collaborate with local and state veterinarians to address and resolve issues related to livestock health.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the management and control of wild horse and burro populations, including estimation and goal setting for population management.
- Investigate animal care complaints, provide recommendations, and conduct inspections to ensure compliance.
- Build and sustain cooperative relationships with volunteers, user groups, government officials, professional organizations, animal rights advocates, humane societies, and animal control entities.
