Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to provide financial and administrative support to our fiscal team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proven track record of processing billings, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly billings in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
  • Assist with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable;
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP accounting principles;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger accounts and journal entries;
  • Provide administrative support to the fiscal team, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Two years of general accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or government setting;
  • Experience with Sage 100 and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word;
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or relevant certificate program;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, with strong organizational and time management skills.

Work Environment

The Accounting Assistant will work in a fast-paced office environment, with frequent interaction with staff, vendors, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, with strong organizational and time management skills, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
