Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Project Liaison who will engage with a diverse array of construction initiatives within our Construction Services Group. In this role, you will oversee daily inspections and documentation of infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, water mains, and sewer systems, while also managing client relationships. Your contributions will be vital in driving strategic initiatives that promote the growth of our construction division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee key tasks on construction projects, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and project guidelines.
  • Conduct construction inspections and document findings, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and other necessary documentation, serving as a model for junior staff.
  • Report on project progress, addressing technical issues and any deficiencies observed.
  • Act as the primary field contact for the Benesch team, preparing calculations and sketches for project documentation.
  • Perform documentation audits, manage submittals and RFIs, and conduct materials testing.
  • Facilitate project meetings and assist in client engagement activities.
  • Support client relationships and contribute to proposal responses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering or a related field is required; EIT certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with Department of Transportation projects is preferred.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in field project oversight is desirable.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and efficiency in project execution.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a safe driving record is required.
